NRDC Climate Storytelling Fellowship

NRDC’s Climate Storytelling Fellowship, in partnership with the Black List, CAA Foundation, NBCUniversal, and the Redford Center, grants $20,000 each to three fellows to support revision of a feature screenplay or pilot that engages with climate change in a compelling way. Fellows will receive creative mentorship from established screenwriters.

Climate Spring

Climate Spring is a global development fund for scripted and unscripted content. It invests in the development of new, commercially viable TV and film shows that address how we respond to the climate and nature crisis. The fund invests in established creatives or production companies, providing funding and editorial consultancy. It is primarily focused on global English language content (US, UK, Australia) but also increasingly working across Europe.

Climate Spring also runs its annual flagship writers development lab The Hot House, with industry partners including Film London, BBC Writers, BFI Network and Torino FilmLab. 

The Doc Society: Climate Story Labs

The Doc Society Climate Story Fund is seeking to support compelling storytelling and impact strategies from around the world that can help audiences envision the just transition, and activate them to make these visions a reality.

Redford Center

The Redford Center Grants program is designed to support environmentally focused feature documentaries and episodic docuseries at any stage of development, production, or post production. It currently operates on a two-year cycle and provides funding, access to a network of industry and environmental experts, a professional development retreat, and the opportunity to apply for second-year funds. 

Film Independent: Climate Entertainment Initiative

The Climate Entertainment Initiative will award a $25,000 development grant to a filmmaker who is accepted into Film Independent’s Screenwriting Lab or Fast Track with a climate-focused fiction feature.
